This is one of those albums you will listen to over and over. It did not get the recognition it so deserves. I bought the cassette and played it so much I wore it out, so then I bought the CD. To this day I still play this CD. It is so beautiful and will make you fall in love again and again.
Underrated, Masterful, Essential

I bought this cd when "Oasis" was all over this radio station I listened to while imprisoned in Cincinnati (not in jail, just hated the city). Actually, I bought the vinyl first, then converted to cd. There was this radio station that was "New Age" and computer programmed and Roberta's "Oasis" along with titles by Patti Austin and Michael Franks were part of that station's playlist, I went crazy for Roberta's song and had to buy the album. I've always been a fan and never disappointed until recently, she doesn't record much anymore; I really miss her. This album was played by me everyday, there isn't one song I dislike. Straightforward pop with a Brazilian feel. The strongest moments are the title track and album opener, track 2 written by Marvin Hamlish, track 5, track 8 and the closer, track 11. Hell, just buy the whole thing.

Certain albums are released that for some reason don't get the recognition that is should. This is one of those. Songs like Oasis and My Someone to Love relfects Roberta Flack's clear flawless voice qualities. Under rated....YES. Disappointing.....couldn't be further from the truth. Truely worth a listen for all Roberta Flack Fans.
