Album: The Elements

Toby is almost 60 years old. This teenybopper nonsense has gotta stop. Lyrics and music are adolescent. I get that the pop genre is juvenile, but no 60-year-old should be rapping lines like “last night put the heavy on me, woke up feeling kinda lonely”. Like you should’ve sorted this out by 30 hopefully and if you haven’t don’t be rapping about it. Now is the time to share the wisdom and experience he’s certainly encountered in his career. Maybe pop and rap is not the style to approach that with.

He sings the best songs I love him I feel so bad that his son died and I will be praying for him and yeah he has the best songs ever but I so like David crwowder a little more than toby but he is still amazing so I'll give him a 10/10

This is a great album and like others have rightly pointed out - many artists write from what they're going through at a particular time, so for baring his heart and sharing a bit of his journey with us, the listeners, he is to be commended. I, for one, am so grateful for artists that bare even just a portion of their soul with us, the audience, and give us a minute glimpse into their journey - their hurts and successes, their hearts and their motivation. We are blessed that these have seen fit to share with total strangers - I don't know anyone else willing to do that while accepting all the negative remarks and hatred that comes with it. Which one of you keyboard-warrior-reviewers is going to do what Toby or any other artist is doing? Which one of you is going to make amazing music WHILE baring your soul to your audience while sharing some of your journey and encouraging other believers while opening yourself to the ridiculous levels of criticism from others not unlike yourself? Interpretation of music and lyrics is very subjective, so to the "Christians" complaining that he isn't writing the way you like - please just shut up. First, you presume to have knowledge you do not possess and you speak falsely when you write these reviews (Exodus 20:16). Additionally, your model of criticizing does not follow the steps outlined in scripture. Did you discuss this with him privately or did you just simply opt to leave your public review hoping readers will think "oh, that guy is super holy and righteous" and recruit others to pick on him as well? And since you obviously DO NOT KNOW Toby Mac or his family, why on earth would you pretend to know and be able to interpret his intentions? You speak falsely and should keep your mouth shut (Proverbs 17:28). I don't know him and he doesn't know me, and I don't know why I picked this album to leave a review of reviewers but all you haters have just got to stop.

This album lifted me up when I was feeling down. Keep strong through the elements Toby. And thank you.

Just came from his concert it was uplifting and his performance was amazing.

TobyMac has come a long ways since Dc Talk broke up in 2000. He has since experimented with rock and rap, in around 2006, he started to experiment more with pop music, which wasn’t a bad thing at the time. In 2011, he sold out to white noise before briefly returning to his roots in like 2015. Now this album he put out in 2018 is the most generic piece of garbage that any of the three DC Talk members have put out in their whole lives. Well, at least Kevin Max put out AWOL earlier that year, check out Kevin Max’s work already for cripe’s sake!

Tobymac used to be my favorite singer, but now his songs are trash and his voice and the background sounds so fake.
