Reviews For BE By Artist BTS

  • Dis-ease and Life Goes On are highlights

For me, LGO and Dis-ease are my favorite tracks on BE by BTS. The first three songs are kinda sad, there's the skit in the middle, then the last three songs have a more upbeat, fun sound to them. *Look up the lyrics though. Dis-ease is such a clever song that tapped into the mixed emotions the pandemic brought on. j-hope as the main songwriter of this track touched on the complicated feelings of the pandemic like how everyone has their own "Disease" and how the forced "rest" or quarantine we had to take during the pandemic was a struggle. There is a lot of interesting wordplay used. There are references that you would miss if you don't look up lyric translations (search for doolset). I also recommend searching online for analysis of the song. He is so clever. Actually, the entire song is insanely smart. The other members took part in the writing process for this song and all the songs fyi. In the weverse interview, they asked j-hope about the love–hate relationship with work he described in the song. I really identify with the occupational disease he describes... if I'm working, I want to rest. And when I'm resting too much I want to get back to work to feel a sense of purpose. The sense of possibly undeserved priviledge of being able to comfortably survive the pandemic while healthcare workers and essential workers were dying or suffering was something I thought about often. I think it was also lovely to hear the rapline rap complete verses instead of just one line or two in a song. The vocal performances from the vocal line were outstanding. Life Goes On acknowledged the despair and sadness that most of us felt at one point or another in 2020-2021. I had tears the first time I watched the music video. But as time went on, I focused more and more on the uplifting lyrics like, "오늘과 내일을 또 함께 이어보자고 let’s thread today and tomorrow together again 멈춰있지만 어둠에 숨지 마 Although everything is paused, don’t hide in the dark 빛은 또 떠오르니깐 because the light will shine again." BTS members themselves said that they put a lot of thought and effort into writing, producing, and creating the album. From the first listen you can see how much the album meant to them. I am looking forward to seeing these songs performed in person. Life Goes On has been performed quite a few times (look for it on youtube) and Dis-ease as well as Fly To My Room, Telepathy, and Stay (and Dynamite of course) were performed at the recent Live Sowoozoo Muster Concert by BTS in June 2021. Thank you BTS. This album helped me so much in 2020 when I really needed it. I continue to listen to the tracks all the time. They are timeless.

This is the kind of album that comforts you that describes how you feel but at the same time heals you by giving you that warmth and words of hope if you buy it and listen to it you won't regret it.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
