I started with Work…then Chaos Reign….then Survivor….then picked up the rest of the tracks! Great songs from top to bottom!!
  • Boring

This album sounds like it was made in 1998 and not in a good nostalgic way. It’s boring and lacks depth.
  • Fitting album title

Like one other reviewer mentioned in their post: Pop Evil never make the same album 2x. “Versatile” is exactly the way I’d describe this band and this album. I’ve been a fan since “Onyx” and quickly picked up their back catalogue, including this Independently released album “War of Roses” from 2004 and fell in love with the sound. Then, when they came through Houston on their last leg of touring for “Onyx”, they toured with a still very new and yet to ripen Badflower and Red Sun Rising and I had the fortune of seeing that show and I have hardly missed a show since! Great group of guys, great band with a fresh sound and they just get it.. these songs on “Versatile” are memorable anthems you can play over and over again and not get tired of that easily. My favorite tracks so far are “Let the Chaos Reign”, “Set Me Free”, “Breathe Again” and “Raise Your Flag”.. nice work, guys (and gal)
  • I see that they’re evolving but in a good way

This whole album is exactly what the title is. They are trying some new things, at the same time staying true to their roots. The lyrics speak true as well. This album deserves more than 5 stars. You 1 star rating people don’t know true art. I’ve been listening to PE since 2013, I never thought that they would try making songs like these back then. They did an awesome job on this album and even surprised me especially with Same Blood and Worst In Me when I finally heard those tracks.
  • Amazing Album!!

To be honest, I have liked the last few albums, but I have not loved them as much as Onyx. Versatile is a solid album, showcasing all of their talents. Lee's vocals are stellar. I'm very excited about this music.
  • Not their best work

    Zero originality, zero inspiration
  • Very Versatile!

So I didn’t think I was gonna like this album after hearing “Work” but I have to said it’s a pretty good album. Pop Evil has always been a band that never puts out the same album twice .It’s def not as good as past albums ,but a solid record. By far the best two tracks on the album are “Breathe Again and “Set me free” The rest are what you would expect from PE post - Onyx Work is def the worst track on this record. “But you don’t have to take my word for it.” (Cue music fill ) Kudos to anyone who knew what that previous line was from😀 give yourself a hand 👏

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
