    To the reviewer, it means something to different to different listeners. Intelligent lyrics don't 'mean' anything per se, and meaning does not precede the work. Byrne gets this and creates beautiful mysterious music which keeps you coming back. In general don't trust anything iTunes pushes. This is a great record.

    Byrne is probably one of the most underrated guitarists in rock history, and on this album his excellent playing is brought to the foreground, bolstered by satisfyingly simple arrangements and stark production. This is still my favorite of any of his solo albums, and I think it stands head and shoulders along with the best of his Talking Heads material.

    I'm surprised that this album has only gotten one user review. I first discovered this album back in 1997, and to this day I still love every song. I've since listened to and really enjoyed 2 other solo albums of his, and I have to say that, for me, this man has brilliance. He's deep, quirky, strange, epileptic, zany, intriguing and daring. His lyrics are as strange as the way he dances. The presence of his music in my music collection is like acid in a bowl of fruit punch. All in all, I highly recommend this guy. I like his solo music better than that of Talking Heads, for what it's worth.

    i bought this when it first came out. i think that it's a wonderful album. it's a shame that most of what he does is compared to his work with the Talking Heads. that band consisted of four seperate creative forces. this album is witty, intellectual & musicially ecclectic. this album is often overlooked and that is a shame. if buck naked doesn't put a smile on your face, then you need to lighten up. all in all, i strongly feel that this album is one of his strongest solo efforts - period.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies.
