The details are amazing. I feel like I’m reading a book. They are just that great. And the lyricism is just as great. This is “real rap” and nobody can convince me otherwise.

By Why Does My Name Matter ?
This album has got a lot of mixed review. I would like to start off by saying I’m proud of Kendrick. This album is what you call growth. People had expectations of what this project should’ve been, because of the time span. I’ve grown to love this project for what it is. Without comparing it to his previous work. I highly respect the courage he displayed by dropping this album. He put himself first in all aspects. This is the project he wanted to release. Where he was mentally. There may have been beats, songs where his delivery not have been sonically appealing, but the context of this album is beautiful. It’s simply therapy. And I feel like if you can’t respect someone being vulnerable and admitting their flaws, showing they’re not perfect, you have issues you need to address yourself.
instant classic

The beats, tonality, and flow on this project was extremely mid and uncreative. Few songs with replay value, overall very mediocre album.
