Reviews For The End, So Far By Artist Slipknot

  • Uniquely Melodic And Still Heavy

The album gives you a little dose of everything that makes The Knot, The Knot. Melodic and harmonious slower songs that still incorporate the heavy feel Slipknot always delivers. Blast beats, heavy riffs, bass tones, unmatched vocals. Sure, it’s not a “typical” Slipknot album - that’s what makes it unique. The heavier songs like H377 and Hive Mind give you that similar feeling from their heavier days. For everyone wishing for another Iowa, just understand that won’t be able to be recreated. This album slaps just as hard with a different evolution of the band. Enjoy their music for what it is now, not what it used to be. Slipknot didn’t disappoint on this one.

Headed in the wrong direction. Down. One of my favorite bands to listen to dropped a deuce with this one.

Some maggots in the reviews seem to want Slipknot to recreate what they’ve done before, but, respectfully, I can already listen to Iowa if I want to listen to something they’ve already done. This album is a great mix of fresh sounds and head bangers, with my favorites being Yen, Dying Song and Medicine for the Dead.

Yen, Hive Mind, and Finale. All on repeat. Glad Slipknot is testing the waters with new sound in this album, and they didn’t disappoint.

From what I’ve read, I am glad I didn’t purchase this album. I haven’t bought a Knot album since the Gray chapter and it just hasn’t been the same. Yes, I am older and they are older. But I haven’t felt that raw emotion I would typically feel (whether that be anger, sadness, etc) from a song since the gray chapter. I don’t have have much hope for anything to change, but hopefully.
  • Horrible

This is more like a slightly heavier Stone Sour album than a Slipknot album, if this is where they’re going, I hope this is just The End.
  • Great

I’m not sure this is their best album but I’m sure it is my favorite. I love all of them but this one is different. I guess maybe because more than anything I’m a Corey Taylor fan he is the mastermind behind all of this.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
