This album, I believe, was a great turning point in Kylie’s career. Very progressive production and experimental lyrics make for a great album from a very, very talented and passionate woman. I have loved this for years. Such a pleasure. Enjoy!!

Along with 94's 'Kylie Minogue' becuase these two albums are REAL,
"Light Years' and 'Fever' come 3rd and 4th
Considered a flop because...

...some people can't handle the idea of Kylie being more than a pretty face who can sing simple lyrics to poppy beats. When she turned to disco pop, people were ecstatic, and even today I hear that this material is nowhere near as good as her more recent albums.
Really, now?
While the S/A/W albums, Light Years, Fever, X, etc. are fun to dance and workout to, it's not like they're that deep. They're fluffy, mindless, fun pop, which is mostly the opposite of Impossible Princess. This one is darker, more introspective (much more so than the 1994 album Kylie Minogue), and is ultimately still immensely enjoyable. Some songs are slower ("Breathe," "Dreams") while others are still danceable ("I Don't Need Anyone").
I've you've only heard Fever or Aphrodite and think you know Kylie, think again. Can't recommend this one enough.
An unexpected treat

My preconceptions about Kylie Minogue's music have been proven wrong. I am now inspired to check out more of her catalogue, so if you're not a big fan of what you think you knew Ms. Minogue to be, check this out. An unexpected treat. Full out singing, clever hooks, and a cohesiveness comparable to that of Madonna's Ray of Light which I think followed this.

the record company pulled the album off the shelves, but this one of Kylie's best albums. Hightlights: Cowboy Style, Some Kind of Bliss, Did It Again, Breathe, and Dreams are all staples of any KM collection! Download them all, you'll be glad you did.
Impossible Princess is Kylie's "Ray of Light"

In the middle of her career Kylie re-invents herself as indie Kylie...one of my favs because you can tell it is very personal to her. She co wrote or wrote all of these songs for the album. I love; "Impossible Princess"(awesome ballad),"Love Takes Over Me"(kylie meets industrial music), "Jump", "Limbo", "Breathe","Cowboy Style","Through The Years","This Girl". Well I could name more, but I think I will just tell you, it is a great buy!
Kylie Equal Great Talent

Over the past few years Ive looked for someone to inspire me, It wasnt until mayb 2 years ago that Kylie came to be the inspiration ive looked for. I bought Fever when it first came out, but being younger u tend to just go to the songs u know. It wasnt until years later that i went back and discovered what a great talent she is. I've Come to own almost all her cds atleast the ones available here in the U.S. This cd is really a leap for a traditional Kylie but I really enjoy that shes that strong of an artist to take that jump. I wish the average American could learn to enjoy Klie the way the rest of the world does, their missing out on a great Artist.
