this was when kylie started being referred to as a serious artist and rightfully so. the production and vocals were miles better than the first 2 album. this album also gave us arguably kylie’s most well known song, better the devil you know, an instant classic! step back in time is a fun tribute to disco, what do i have to do and shocked are AWESOME songs, the latter being my fav on the album. secrets is cute, things can only get better is REALLY GOOD, both really should’ve been singles. classic album

Now this is what I'm talking about! This is a great album from the Stock-Aitken-Waterman era. They do a lot better at putting together the right songs for my girl Kylie. She always had the voice to go places, but needed the right sounds to go with her, I like this album! Gary....

I can't believe it! One of the many albums unreleased by Ms. Minogue to USA is now in the iTunes store! This is definitely great! I love this album, though it's sounds so early 90's anyway it's great, recommended for fans and for begginers! The highlights: 1.-Better The Devil: What a great song! I love the intro, is definitely the best part of the song! And the chorus is so sticky! 2.-Shocked: A master-piece from Minogue, luv her first hip-hop collaboration! 3.-What Do I Have To Do?: Magnificient track! This song always make me dance!
  • well worth your money!!

Granted she lost the plot for a while after this, but this - her third album - was the album that started to define who Kylie is today. It includes all the perfect singles from the Stock Aitken Waterman era (Better the Devil You Know, Step Back in Time, What Do I Have to Do and the album version of Shocked). This was when Kylie also shed the teeny-bop image and discovered how to do sexy the right way. The core singles are the best and some the album tracks fall a little short, but this is a great album. I'm happy to see it finally see the light of day in the US and not just as an import. With this, and nearly her entire catalog now available on iTunes, people can see the progression of Kylie and what all the fuss is about. Buy it because it's true....it's Better the Devil You Know.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
