Didn't like it when Jennifer Hudson sang this song it made college basketball look horrible it was even the night when Butler didn't win the national title just sad.

I know Jennifer was hot at the moment, but you can't replace Luther! Please bring him back for 2011.

whta's wrong with you people?? she did a great job with this....personally i think the song is pretty weak but after listening to luther and teddy's versions, i think this style of song fits her best....is this the kind of material i want for her album? no...but i think she did an excellent job with this

This is an amazing performance. The reaction is what happens when you let couch potatos think they know about music. I think these responses are sexist and baseless. Jennifer knocked this song out of the park, I think the negative comments are because she's a girl and because people didn't like the video edit. Reading the reviews are interesting but have nothing to do with music. Her vocals are amazing and inspiring. The reaction is very "good ole boys" club.

I can't believe they replaced Luther's great song with this! The song was perfect the way it was and now I will not be able to enjoy the ending of the college basketball season as I have in the past. Her voice does not fit this song and her style of singing over shadowed the music. Go back to Luther, PLEASE!
  • Please write her a hit! Don't put on album!

I love Jennifer's voice but frankly this is a sad song instead of a triumphant use of her voice. Clive Davis and team are dropping the ball on this talent. This song is not a single, album filler more like background music for weight watchers commercial. Please give my girl an age appropriate swagger sound soulful but youthful. Jen get new mgr who'll fight with record execs so you can deliver your fans some good music. I'm waiting to buy J.Hud heat.

1st let me say that Jennifer took a timeless song and made it hers, so kudos. Now with that said people are basing their ratings on the video not the song. The sad thing is that most people dont even realize what their talking about, Luther isnt the orginal singer...people are so scared of change, so what it wasnt what you expected so lets just bash the artist, ugh yall need to get a life.......

I prefer Teddy Pendergrass' version to Luther's version (and I like Luther). And I prefer Luther's version to Jennifer Hudson's version (and I like her too). Why CBS killed Teddy's version years ago, I have no clue. Probably money. The actual video this year was a train wreck. Too much Jennifer, not enough hoops. It was terrible. I, too, wish I could give it less than one star.

Is this college basketball on Broadway? Terrible rendition - over the top.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
