Really great album. Been listening to it for almost 10 years now
  • Great album, But

    By 308 Ruger
I was convinced that underoath was a Christian band spreading the word of God. I was wrong (we will talk about why I was wrong later.) This album is awesome. Love the message, and it sounds amazing. Now with that being said you remember me saying I was wrong about them being Christian? Well I’m regarding there new album. It’s terrible. It has language and profanity. And I listened to an interview and they were cussing like there was no tomorrow. If they would have been the same in there new album, then this would have gotten 5+++++++ stars but unfortunately there not.
  • Best of all time

Spencer’s low screams, Aaron’s fantastic vocals, and great music. Again, THIS is the UnderØath that I like and always will like. If you have to buy any of their albums, buy this one!
  • One of the best albums ever!

Underoath made up a great portion of the music I listened to during mychildhood, 90% came from this album. This album holds a special place in my heart. Me and brothers will listen to this album nonstop.
  • The most Epic in scope album.

    By SNEAKERdadAAron
There biggest sound is found here and what a great sound it is.
  • A rock solid must-have; completely enjoyable!

    By Ryuko098
The entire band truly matured and melded together on this album, with the right mix of screaming and melodic vocals, haunting drone guitars, epic drumming. It all ties together perfectly on this album, showcasing their ability to hold their own as a classic of the genre. After nearly a decade, this is still among my top 5 rock albums, and one of the few CDs I actually still own. If you at all enjoy the screamo/metal-core/hardcore music scene, you will enjoy this album. Their follow-on album, Lost in the Sound of Separation, continues the bar of excellence set by this album, and is highly recommended.
  • Awesome

  • ImageFilled's review: A Benchmark of Post-Hardcore

    By ImageFilled
This album is singlehandedly Underoath's best album. Superior in both vocals and drumming with guitars that ripple and take hold of your ears like few albums can. 2006 is the year of Saosin and Underoath. They both reached their full potential at the same time and soared with unmatched production value on their 06 efforts. I urge you to listen to the album from start to finish and note the last track, To Whom It May Concern, which is their best track with their Greatest Hits, "Unsound" placing second. There's so much to love and embrace on this album of hope tied with immense pain that after it all, emerges with a solid and profound message to never give up. Underoath's singers are in perfect pitch and will never sound better than they do right here. BUY IT! LOVE IT! And tell all your friends.

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment) and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "(art) of the Muses"); see § Etymology and glossary of musical terminology.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player, CD player, smartphone or as film score or TV show.
